Documenting the journey of a Cameroonian filmmaker
This is the face of Cameroonian surgeon Dr. Georges Bwelle who has just been selected among the Top 10 CNN Heroes of 2013. This is the face of Cameroonian philanthropy guys.
Dr. Georges Bwelle is the founder and president of ASCOVIME , a non-profit organization based in Yaoundé, Central Region, Cameroon. For over 10 years, Dr. Bwelle and his team of mostly volunteers have visited rural villages in Cameroon providing free surgical and medical services to those in need.
Described by CNN as a medical marvel, Dr. Georges says “Tom make people laugh, to reduce the pain, that’s why I’m doing this.” And we applaud you for that Dr. Georges.
To vote for Dr. Georges, click here : CNN.COM or simply click on ASCOVIME to get involved in the project.
I have often heard some of our young people say there are no Cameroonian role models. Well hopefully, Dr. Georges serves as a role model to at least one of us. I also hope that we all donate to his cause so he can spread his philanthropic work around Cameroon.
WHAT’S YOUR TAKE ?
