Documenting the journey of a Cameroonian filmmaker
Somalia’s al-Qaida-linked rebel group, al-Shabab have claimed responsibility for the gun massacre that took place yesterday (Saturday) in a Nairobi city mall. 59 people are confirmed dead so far, among them a good number of non-Kenyan nationals. An indeterminate number of hostages are still being held in the city mall. Thankfully the Cameroonian government has not made any statement on whether any Cameroonians lost their lives in Saturday’s attack. Whether that’s good or bad, we’ll keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
The face behind the Kenyan Mall attack? Samantha Lewthwaite, 29, of Buckinghamshire, was revealed by an anti-terror source as the possible leader of the Al-Shabab group of terrorists responsible for the on-going Nairobi mall attacks. Lewthwaite is the wIdow of 7/7 British Muslim Bomber Jermaine Lindsay.
We join the rest of the world to light candles and sympathize with those who lost loved ones in the attack. Violence is never the answer.
WHAT’S YOUR TAKE?
