CamerVibes! 3 billion CFA partnership to boost Cameroon’s ailing Radio stations

The Cameroon Government and UNESCO have concluded a deal which includes 3 billion CFA being invested into the ailing Cameroon Radio broadcasting industry.

The goal of the partnership is to ensure the rehabilitation of 21 community radio stations and the creation of 15 multi-media community centers in the country.  Training of Radio Disc Jockeys (DJ) will be done by UNESCO. According to the Minister for Economy and Planning, Mr. Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, this partnership is one of the development objectives contained in the Growth and Employment Strategy Paper.

So hopefully, our Radio stations which look like this:

will be transformed to this: BFM-TV-Gallery-1

Ain’t nothing wrong with dreaming. After all, the saying goes “L’impossible n’est pas Camerounais.” On a serious note, if this comes to fruition, employment opportunities abound.

If the budget is used for this purpose then we sure wont be wrong in picturing a radio station as up to date as that in the second picture. Hope to see results
