Breaking News!! Paul Biya declares his candidacy for the 2011 Presidential Elections!

News reaching us from Cameroon this afternoon claims that Paul Biya, the Chairman of CPDM and president of the Republic of Cameroon since 6 November 1982 has declared his bid for presidency in the forthcoming October 2011 elections.

Paul Biya will stand as candidate for CPDM (Cameroon Peoples’ Democratic Party-which should be changed to Cameroon Peoples’ Dictatorship and prison).

Other candidates who have declared their candidacy include;

Kah Walla of Cameroon People’s Party (CPP)

Ayah Paul Abine of the People’s Action Party (PAP)

Bernard Muna of the Alliance for Progressive Forces (APF).

Have a look at their websites, it is not too late to make a decision. We can save our beloved fatherland from dictatorship.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Apparently this news has completed demoralised most Cameroonians who have now decided not to register. Afterall given past elections, we know that fraud will be the order of the day and regardless Biya will still win. However what I do not understand is why we are ready to give up so easily? So what if he stands, let’s still go to the polls and vote him out and if he rigs the elections, which I am certain he will, at least we know we played our parts. Still this is so disgraceful. God help us all!

    Frustration is the root as to why most people have given up. Some are rather registering cause they want to dodge sleeping in cells when search rounds are made by armed forces for voting cards as such. It’s quiet a pitiful situation. But then we’ll see, LIke the saying goes, “He who kills by the sword, dies by the sword”, I see such a situation applying in this case. Like he did Ahidjo, so to it shall be done unto him.

    It is not breaking news because President Paul Biya’s candidacy is a call from the Cameroonians. If you are surprised then it is your problem, it just because you did not want him to run for elections. Elections have always been free and fair in Cameroon and the opposition is always talking of election rig when the loose because they are just too weak and even inexistent to measure up to President Paul Biya, that’s their excuse. I think if they want to be credible they should be humble and admit they cannot stand president Paul Biya.

    President Paul Biya has no interest in rigging elections. CPDM supporters are so many in the face of a definitely nonexistent opposition, who constitute no threat to the ruling party. President Paul Biya does not need to rig elections in Cameroon. Elections in Cameroon have always been free and fair, since the opposition has no considerable support from Cameroonians because they are not convincing at all, whenever they lose elections they will always use the excuse that elections were rigged, it is a common scenario in Africa. You rig elections when you have real challengers who constitute a threat but when there none, why should there be election rig? Don’t be surprised, President Paul Biya is wanted by Cameroonians and they went out in great numbers to vote for him.
