Breaking News!! China to fund $2bn railway linking Nyala (Sudan) to Douala (Cameroon)

Acording to Reports from GMS Sudan, the secretary General of the town between Sudan and Chad, Hassan Mohammed Bargo has confirmed a $ 2bn loan from the Chinese Import and Export Bank . This loan, arguably considered the biggest ever loan from the Chinese government will be used to fund the building of a railroad that links Nyala (Sudan) to Douala (Cameroon) in addition to constructing the Ndjamena Airport.

The laying of the foundation stone will be on the 15th of October after which work will commence.

This sounds interesting…. and it is a good initiative. I coulda been worried about the source of the loan but given that loans from other Western countries have not benefitted us in any way, I hope our respective governments actually bring this project to fruition.

Hi There, The Chinese invested 15bn dollars in Germany… that aside lets look at the source of the money the Chinese are making, I would say a large percentage of their Wealth comes from the resources the take from the African continent, so in other words they have made a lot of money from our natural resources, and take the gain and loaning it to us, and of course there is a price to pay for the loan ( Dont really want to get into that though)….Well I dont blame them I blame our leaders who are so greedy that they dont have the common sense and business savvy to make good use of the resources we have and use it to improve our country…and to make matters worse the chinese dont hire locals they import their own so there is no gain for the local man in anyway… will leave it at that for now 🙂
