Documenting the journey of a Cameroonian filmmaker

Skin Bleaching celebrities!!!

First it was Michael Jackson, the king of pop (whom I love regardless) whose public skin bleaching I believe encouraged the mania of skin bleaching. Since then we have seen quite an increase in the number of celebrities choosing to go down that route.

Sammy Peralta Sosa, former and retired Chicago Cubs slugger of the Major League Baseball player . Sammy Sosa says a cosmetic cream he uses to soften his skin is the reason for his lighter skin tone.

Rapper lil Kim too has joined the bandwagon.

Vybz Kartel, a Jamaican Reggae and dancehall artist. Vybz had this to say;

“This is my new image.  You can expect the unexpected. I feel comfortable with black people lightening their skin. They want a different look. It’s tantamount to white people getting a sun tan.”

    wao, disgusting, except for M.J whom I adore of course, lol, I am being biased I know but at least M.J gave so much more to the world so that one can easily overlook the color of his skin.

    Black people are a disgrace to themselves around the world….It is really difficult to comprehend what kind of low self esteem and inferiority complex these people suffer from.How can they reject/dislike and have such a resentment for their own skin colour…?where has “”black and beauty gone”…?
    I see some of the idiots/morons trying to justify their sickish and unhealthy acts on internet…Do they really expect other races to respect them..?All these is probably due to the fact that the black family is not present in most of the lives of these retarded imbeciles…If we take into consideration the fact that as we write 7 out of every ten black kids are born out of wedlock then it is really time for black people to step up into the plate in their communities….The is really a lot to be fixed in black communities.

      I feel your anger Scot. It is a damn shame! But until we (Black people) get control of the beauty standards projected by the media upon us, we are always going to find Black people who fall for these beauty steorotypes.
