Alicia Keys dies for $1 million dollars

If you’ve read this elsewhere… enjoy it a second time.

Grammy award singer and new mom, Alicia Keys came up with an interesting concept to raise money for AIDS research through the “Keep A Child Alive” foundation’. The concept involved Alicia Keys and a host of her celebrity chums suffering a ‘digital death’, what that means is,on November 30th 2010,  they all greed to log off their twitter, facebook and other social networking sites accounts until they raise $1 million dollars.

The other celebrities involved include; Swizz Beatz, Usher, Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams, P. Diddy, Justin Timberlake, Elijah Woods and a few more.

Her husband, Swizz Beatz

This is what Ms Keys had to say about the concept.

As someone from a PR background, I appreciate the reason behind shock value concepts. Still what do you think, Creative or just plain creepy?

WAO! WAO! WAO! It is creepy but then again that’s the reality of many children elsewhere, so I say GREAT IDEA, love it. Death is a reality and to see these ‘invincible’ celebrities do that for a good cause is just humbling and very touching. AMAZING! I can’t gush anymore, just brilliant. I am not a celebrity yet but I’d do that to raise money to help eradicate world hunger. Alicia is the only one though who closed her eyes and kept still, the others are just too flashy to be dead, lol.

I love your blog Anu, you keep me updated. Excellent Job you’re doing here.
