Documenting the journey of a Cameroonian filmmaker

Cameroonians making it big – Music

When I think of Cameroonian music genres, I think of makossa, bikutsi and Manu Dibango-type Jazz. I do acknowledge that recently the younger generation of Cameroonian musicians have branched out to embrace hiphop fully, zouk, and even Naija style hiphop. So you can imagine how stumped I was to discover these new set of Cameroonian JAZZ musicians. Their music is a much needed refreshing breath of fresh air. Enjoy

Ngu Mbandi defines his music as contemporary instrumental and describes himself as a composer/pianist. The kind of music you listen to unwind and go to that place where ‘only you can go to find peace.’. It’s soothing to the soul. Check out more of his work at:,  or download at

Can you believe he is one of ours? A -MA-ZING!
